Cates, one of the first independent grain and seed companies in Mid Canterbury, specialises in the production and marketing of clover, cereals, grasses, pulses and brassicas for both domestic and international markets. For over 50 years, we have taken pride in the strong partnerships we’ve built with our loyal base of local farming families. We are looking to fill a position in our busy Rakaia grain and seed store. Reporting to the warehouse manager your duties will include: – seed dressing and quality control – serving farmer clients – forklift operation – loading containers – general store duties. The successful applicant will have customer contact, so a friendly and efficient manner is essential. Applicants should be physically fit, have a positive attitude and an efficient approach to their work, and enjoy being part of a small, friendly team. Knowledge of the grain and seed industry and a current forklift license would also be preferred, however full training will be given to the right applicant.
