Cates, one of the first independent grain and seed companies in Mid Canterbury, specialises in the production and marketing of clover, cereals, grasses, pulses and brassicas for both domestic and international markets. For over 50 years, we have taken pride in the strong partnerships we’ve built with our loyal base of local farming families. We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-orientated Export & Logistics Administrator to join our Ashburton-based team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data and documentation, supporting export operations, and ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently. Working alongside our export and logistics team, you’ll play an important role in keeping documentation accurate, compliant, and well managed. Key tasks include: · Enter, maintain and update data across internal systems and multiple spreadsheets. · Prepare, distribute and file export documentation, test results and grower contracts. · Manage seed cleaning schedules and tracking spreadsheets. · Support the team with general administrative duties as required. Key requirements for this role are: · Strong communication and organisational skills as well as a high attention to detail. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ProDoc an advantage. · A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn new systems. · The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small, supportive team. Experience in administration, logistics, or export documentation would be an advantage — but full training will be provided for the right person. This is a part-time role of approximately 25 hours per week. A typical schedule could be 9am–2.30pm – Mon-Fri, but hours are negotiable. If you are interested in joining a friendly and supportive team in a long-established local business, then we would love to hear from you!
