Cates, one of the first independent grain and seed companies in Mid Canterbury, specialises in the production and marketing of clover, cereals, grasses, pulses and brassicas for both domestic and international markets. For over 50 years, we have taken pride in the strong partnerships we’ve built with our loyal base of local farming families.

 

This position, based at our head office in Ashburton, will report to the General Manager and be focused on providing logistics support for our Sales Managers.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work with freight companies and other suppliers to ensure the efficient movement of our seed products through the supply chain.
  • Manage certification requirements and regulatory processes.
  • Liaise and coordinate product handling with the seed cleaning stores.
  • Oversee other logistics-related duties, such as seed treatment and packaging requirements.

 

Key requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and strong computer literacy.
  • Highly organised and has a proven work ethic.
  • Previous experience in a logistics role or similar would be preferred.

 

This role is a permanent position offering flexible hours (by negotiation), and a competitive remuneration package.
