Cates, one of the first independent grain and seed companies in Mid Canterbury, specialises in the production and marketing of clover, cereals, grasses, pulses and brassicas for both domestic and international markets. For over 50 years, we have taken pride in the strong partnerships we’ve built with our loyal base of local farming families.

Due to the upcoming retirement of a valued and longstanding employee, an exciting opportunity has arisen in our company for a position providing administration and accounts support.

This position, based at our head office in Ashburton, will involve overseeing general administration tasks, managing payable/receivable accounts and working alongside the team to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the office.

Key tasks include:

  • Inputting and managing financial transactions.
  • Reporting and record keeping as required.
  • Providing administrative support to the management team.
  • Delivering friendly and efficient customer service.

Key requirements for this role are:

  • Great communication skills, attention to detail and a high level of computer literacy.
  • Well organised and a proven work ethic.
  • Previous experience in an administration/accounts role would be beneficial but not necessary as full training will be given.

This role is a permanent position offering flexible hours (by negotiation), and a competitive remuneration package.

If you are interested in joining a friendly and supportive team in a long-established local business, then we would love to hear from you!

Applications, including a cover letter and current CV, close on Friday 19 July 2024.
